Be Inspired By Jacqui!

I love the show, Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition.  It is so motivational and really inspires as it helps people have amazing weight loss transformations. One of my favorite episodes is Jacqui McCoy. Her story actually was history-making. In just a year, guided by extreme transformation specialist Chris Powell, Jacqui lost 207 pounds - 58% of her total body weight - the highest percentage lost in television history. Is that not amazing or what?

One thing I loved about Jacqui is that she is a Shaklee user, just like me! Jacqui’s diet and fitness regime were prescribed by her coaches on Extreme Makeover. Jacqui is also a passionate advocate for Shaklee products and her nutritional needs were supported by her use of Shaklee nutrition, including Shaklee Vitalizer™ and OmegaGuard®, which I also use and love. I have always been amazed by my own transformation and ability to stay at a healthy weight since I started using Shaklee products, and I am equally excited to hear about Jacqui's success with Shaklee and her journey on Extreme Makeover!

Jacqui After
Where is Jacqui now? A year and a half after her amazing weight loss, Jacqui remains at 155 pounds and Vitalizer™ and Cinch® are part of her new daily routine. Jacqui loves and uses Cinch Shakes, Cinch Meal-in-a-Bars, Cinch Snack Bars, and lots of other Shaklee products. I love that, because these are the products I use and recommend to my fitness clients too!

And these days, she’s sharing what she knows – including the importance of a solid nutrition foundation with Shaklee Vitalizer - with next season’s contestants. Extreme Makeover asked Jacqui to be a consultant on the show’s third season, and Shaklee was asked to ship enough Vitalizer for the contestants Jacqui is now coaching!

Jacqui Before
It is so easy to be inspired by her story of weight loss, personal growth, and her struggle with infertility.
Congratulations, Jacqui!

No Excuses!

Take a moment and let this picture sink in.

Now, think of excuses you gave yourself this week about why you didn't want to come to workout, you didn't want to hold that plank for the whole minute, you didn't want to eat veggies instead of that fettucine alfredo.

As we start our new summer session, I want you to remember this picture. Are you motivated by it? See yourself how you want to feel by the end of the summer. How will that feel? How will that look? Your journey and the hard work and good decisions you put in are going to get you where you want to be. No excuses, just effort. Effort pays off!

Go for it!

Do You Have Goals?

"You are limitless potential...so dare experience. Believe you have the courage to realize all you dream. Say YES to this day!"

I am a big fan of goals. I feel that without having dreams or a vision, we will fall into a big slump. My passion is helping people achieve great health. So many people out there are suffering because of a lack of good health. My goal is to help as many people as possible feel better than they have ever felt and have truly great health!

Having my own Shaklee and fitness businesses has inspired me and given me hope to accomplish all my dreams. In fact, I made a little dream book several years ago that highlights some of my passions, goals I have for myself and family, and words that inspire me. I think a lot of times we lose sight of our own dreams because life can get so hectic. We lose sight of our "why?" Now, I am sure every one of you has a long list of dreams and goals. This might be a great time to revisit them and let yourself be inspired again! I pray that each of you is able to share your passion every day, as I am blessed enough to do.

As you think about goals for your life, I encourage you to think about goals for your health also. We all have them. One of mine is to run a marathon with my dad when he is 60. Another goal is to live a healthy life day by day and not need any medications. Please feel free to share with me any goals you have that I may be able to help with. I would love to talk with you and set up a great plan for accomplishing them!

Is Fear Holding You Back?

What is your answer to that question? Is fear holding you back?

You may immediately think, "No! What do I have to be scared about?"

But, when it comes to weight loss and hitting new fitness goals, sometimes fear takes hold of us - the fear of failing...

It is all about that mental game again that I am always talking about.

Think about this - what is the story you tell yourself about your body?

Do these kind of stories sound familiar? "I am not strong enough to finish this workout." "I am fat. I cannot lose all this weight. I will never lose the weight." "I am ugly, have thunder thighs, a muffin top, etc. etc."

Do those kind of stories empower you? No way!! But, look again at the picture above. That kind of a story does empower you and that is what you need to start thinking and believing about yourself!

If you know that your current story does NOT empower you, develop a new story. Don't ever look back or repeat that old story in your head again. Make strategies to change the way you think, and get in an empowered state of mind. Get excited! Be confident!

Repeat your new story over and over in your head and find yourself proving it true every day!

New habits.
New patterns.
No excuses!

You can do it! Turn fear into power!

Cinch Success!

"I'm so thankful that a dear friend introduced me to this amazing program!" Heather says.

Heather, 30 pounds healthier*
Prior to starting this program, I was 143 pounds—in a size 8. I am not a tall person, so I was miserable about my weight. My days consisted of endless feelings of fatigue and frustration. The simple act of getting dressed each day was a big hassle that always resulted in my entire wardrobe being thrown all over my bed and me complaining that nothing I owned fit or looked right.

After getting started on the Cinch® Inch Loss Plan, I noticed a remarkable difference in both my energy level and mood. I didn’t find this program to be difficult; it was simple to follow and really took the guesswork out of my diet plan. Fast forward and I am down to 113 pounds and wearing a size 2!* I never dreamed that I could even be that size, especially after having two kids. Now my daily dilemma is what to wear because I have so many options as a result of the newfound confidence I’ve gained. I’m so thankful that a dear friend introduced me to this amazing program! As I approach my 30th birthday, I’m embracing a new era in my life—an era that starts with me feeling better than ever.

*Results not typical. In a preliminary clinical study of the Cinch Inch Loss Plan, participants on averaged lost 15.4 pounds in 12 weeks.

How's This For Motivation?

I understand that sometimes our motivation goes up and down. Sometimes you are gung ho and ready to go burn some major calories. Other days it may feel like you are actually glued down to your couch or desk chair.

Here is some motivation for you today. No matter if you are on a motivation high or low, check out that picture above. Do you have any idea what that is?

One....pound.....of.....fat.

Gross. One pound of ishy gishy fat that plays a mean role in sabotaging your health. But aren't you glad that you worked hard this week or plan on working hard next week to get that off your body. Now that is motivation. Get that gunk off your hips, waist, and thighs. Eat clean, work hard, and make that one pound turn into five pounds and then ten! Go for it!
